Artist Reel

This clip was made to feature Gallo Guitars and the artwork behind it on a Facebook post. It is yet to be released on our official page, but it has been submitted for several art and news pages on Facebook.

The video was created to emulate viral "how it's made"/ "what this is" structure, by using storytelling, which is a key trait of virality.

Animated Meme

The key idea behind this video was to share a feeling with our audience. I picked on this trend of other pages using Shia LaBoeuf's Creative Commons video to promote travel and another to encourage friends to go to Disney. Since I run the Facebook page for Gallo Guitars, this video was the perfect piece of content I needed to to create to help promote our page.

The video has only been up for a couple of days and has reached great success, organically, through user and group sharing. There is a case study later on this page.

Release Preview

Promoting musicians is also part of my freelance work. Whether it is for independent musicians, music studios or a collaboration, these short previews are very important. They build hype and create backlinks to their websites and YouTube channels, which results in higher rankings.

.GIFs should be part of every content creator's portfolio. They are the perfect mix between video and static images and, if done skillfully, they can generate that surprisingly fun effect. Sometimes users are expecting a static image, but instead get movement, which is key for generating engaging content.

I find .GIFs most effective on Instagram as its layout is focused on visual content. Even if Instagram doesn't read .GIF files, a quick export to .MP4 will go a long way.

Facebook Viral Content
Case Study

After picking up on this trending video for the new year, I decided to create one that would target guitar players. In a funny, but engaging way, I was able to catch people's attention, which turned into engagement with the Gallo Guitars page and generated new leads. The video was released after 8pm EST and was subsequently shared to multiple guitar groups, which gave a great start to the video and helped it enjoy great success for the following days. The video was only shared organically. Click on the images to see the post's progress 1 hr and 1 day after.

Imgur Viral Content
Case Study

To make this Imgur post go viral, I used storytelling. The first thing I did was create a collection of images that would be visually engaging and would tell a story even if they had no captions. Then I organized them in a compelling way to share the story. Every image had a caption, which served as a rest and a link between the images. To finalize the article, I made sure I posted links to the sites I wanted to drive traffic to. Once the piece was completed, I worded a compelling title in the before/after structure, which generated intrigue and led users to click on it and read the story. Click here to see the post.

Shortly after being posted, Imgur notified me that the post was going viral and had hit their front page. They also featured the post on their Secret Santa Workshop at no cost.

Reddit Viral Case Study

They say "don't judge a book by it's cover" but that is definitely not the case on Reddit. If you've been on Reddit enough, you'll notice that it's all about the title. People are looking for something, usually to inspire them, to get entertained for a couple of minutes or to learn, so truth is that you gotta be able to create an engaging heading. Then, the content's gotta be equally, if not better of what the title's saying and it's gotta be able to start a conversation. In this case I shared a picture of a guitar I had painted, which made it all the way up to the cover of the /guitar subreddit. That sub is too small to make a guitar post on the first page of the entire site, but given the context, this post performed extremely well.

Instagram Growth Case Study

– @galloguitars –

Without good content you have nothing. Without good imagery, you have nothing. No substance? No story? You have nothing.

In this case you will see how I took the @galloguitars Instagram account and quadrupled their number of followers in less than a year. With the new algorithm, it is way harder to perform these tasks and, even though this is still not at a glamorous 10K, I'm happy to say that I've grown this account organically, generating more engagement, more leads and closer relationships with all of our fans.
